Little, Brown and Stephenie Meyer donate $1.5 Million Dollars to American Red Cross from 'Bree Tanner' Book Sales
NEW YORK, NY (December 13, 2010) – Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, a division of Hachette Book Group, and Stephenie Meyer have donated 1.5 million dollars to the American Red Cross International Response Fund from their proceeds from The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: an Eclipse Novella. As previously announced, one dollar for each book sold in the US from the first printing would go to the American Red Cross. The donation was made today by Hachette Book Group CEO David Young and Little, Brown Books for Young Readers Publisher Megan Tingley to The American Red Cross Senior Vice President of International Services David Meltzer.
“I’m so grateful that Little, Brown, the American Red Cross, and my fans made this generous gift possible,” said Stephenie Meyer. “It’s amazing to have the opportunity to help those so greatly in need.”
“We’ve had the incredible great fortune to have one of the biggest publishing phenomenons in recent years along with The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner becoming one of the top selling titles of 2010,” said Hachette Book Group CEO David Young. “Giving back is extremely important to the company, so it is particularly gratifying to be able to share our success with an organization as worthy as The American Red Cross.”
After the devastating earthquake in Haiti on January 12th the International Response Fund (IRF) afforded the American Red Cross the ability to provide immediate funding for food and other urgently needed emergency relief items.
“The generous contribution of Little, Brown to the IRF is essential to the ability of the American Red Cross to provide help and hope for people during their darkest hours,” said David Meltzer of the American Red Cross. “After the devastating Haiti earthquake, which took the lives of more than 230,000 people, the IRF allowed us to quickly purchase, ship and distribute aid. The Red Cross is extremely grateful for the support Little, Brown is providing toward our humanitarian mission.”
In the weeks and months following the Haiti earthquake, the American Red Cross worked with the global Red Cross network and other partners to secure enough food for 1 million people for one month; provide tarpaulins to one of out every three homeless people in Port-au-Prince; and vaccinate almost 1 million children and their parents against common diseases like diphtheria, tetanus, pertusis, measles and rubella. Since the early days of the response, the Red Cross has also provided safe, drinkable water for approximately 250,000 in the capital each day.
The International Response Fund allows the American Red Cross to partner with other Red Cross societies immediately following large-scale disasters by providing financial assistance and relief supplies and by deploying trained disaster relief staff. For example, in the last year the IRF has supported the American Red Cross response to the floods in Pakistan, the earthquake in Chile and the aftermath of Hurricane Tomas in the Caribbean to name just a few disasters. The IRF also supports a number of other humanitarian services around the world, including global health programs to combat HIV/AIDS, measles and malaria, disaster preparedness projects, reconnecting families separated by disaster and war, and educating American students about the humanitarian rules in war.
“This kind of donation helps us provide a depth and breadth of services which is hard to match,” said Meltzer. “Last year, the American Red Cross helped 68 million people through programs funded by the International Response Fund.”

Mike against 'real' thirst
“Twilight” actor Michael Welch is taking a break from bloodsucking vampires to help quench a more urgent kind of thirst.
Welch, who plays Bella’s high school bud Mike Newton, in the “Twilight” films, recently contributed a PSA in support of The Thirst Project, a non-profit organization seeking to answer the urgent need for clean drinking water and proper sanitation in Africa – and one charitable Twi-hard may help him provide hands-on help.
“I will be taking a trip to Africa, preferably Swaziland, but we have to raise enough funds in order to do that,”
Welch tells PopcornBiz.
“If enough people donate, we made a deal with the fans that I'm going to bring one of them with me and they'll get to see firsthand as well.”
Welch recently had his own awareness raised on the issue.
“When I take a particularly delicious sip of cold water or take a shower that feels really good, I have said to myself, 'It's unbelievable to me that not everybody has access to this.’ So when [Thirst Project founder] Seth Maxwell introduced this cause to me it immediately struck me as something that I wanted to be a part of. It turns out that this crisis is drastically severe: one out of every six people who don't have clean water in the world. I just thought about myself and five people that I care about, thinking that one of them doesn't have water. It's inconceivable. And the effectiveness of the organization as well has been astonishing. In two and a half years they've been able to provide clean drinking water to 35,000 people.”
The actor appreciates the opportunity to use the fame and following he’s amassed via “Twilight” to make a difference.
“This is one of the things that I really do like about being in this position – what some might call a celebrity, at least within the 'Twilight' world: the fact that I can reach people and I have the opportunity to make an impact.”
Meanwhile, he’ll back for the next film, “Breaking Dawn.”

The European Nomads who join the Cullens to witness against the Volturi in Breaking Dawn are 2 male vampires and 1 female vampire, named:
Charles special power is similar to that of Maggie: he can sense if someone is telling him the truth. Even if he knows the Cullens are telling the truth about Renesmee, he left soon after arriving with his mate, Makenna, because they didn't want to take part in the process.
As far as I know, only Alistair of all the European Nomads will be portrayed; the actor who will play his role's Joe Anderson.

The American Nomads
The American Nomads, essentially those who have had greater importance in various events, at the beginning of Breaking Dawn are essentially three males vampires and two female vampires. However, in the past it was possible to have 3 more, but one of them has become stable (Laurent, therefore no longer considered as a nomad), plus one male and one female. All three were already deceased at the time of Breaking Dawn, while at the end, one of three men still alive also becomes stable. Their names are:
Garrett was an adventurer; he doesn't have a special power but enjoys challanges. Infact, he challanged Kate to test her powers on him and, after several fails, he succeeded during the confrontation with the Volturi, avoiding what would have lead to her death. Intrugued by her lifestyle, at the end of the confrontation, he becomes her mate and join her coven. Bella describes him as a surprisingly good teacher, in general easily interacting with others.
James was a cunning and merciless tracker who enjoyed the hunt as a sadistic game.He had infallible presentiments which aided during his hunts; however, once he failed and it was with Alice, when she was still human. She was changed into a vampire before he could attack her; James killed her creator in revenge, leaving her all by herself. During his meeting with the Cullens, he was intrigued by Edward protectiveness towards Bella, so decided to engage them in one of his games, to continue his revenge about Alice and see if Edward would have decided to protect his beloved the same way as the old vampire who changed Alice. After tricking Bella into a trap in which he almost killed her, he was attacked by Edward and finally killed by Emmett and Jasper (also Alice in the movie).
Victoria became James' mate sometime after being changed. After the confrontation with the Cullens, she assisted him in tracking Bella. Since his death, she started to plan a way to kill Bella, as a 'mate for mate' revenge against Edward. In New Moon, after failed attempts to get to Bella, she enlists Laurent's help who, instead, tries to kill Bella out of sheer thirst and, in turn, is killed by werewolves. However, thanks to Laurent, she was aware of all the special powers of the Cullens. So, in Eclipse, she decides to build a vampire army, which was lead by Riley (a guy originally from Forks settled in Seattle who she manipulated into believing she loved him) to circumvent Alice's visions. However, her plan was discovered and her army distroyed; finally, even her attempt to make an assault on Bella and Edward ended with Riley's and her death.
Peter was part of Maria's army, during Southern Wars. His job was taking care of the newborns and he was good at fighting, even if he disliked it. Since he was in love the newborn Charlotte, when Maria ordered to kill all those who exceeded an year of life, he changed and fled with his beloved. He came back 5 years later to take away a depressed Jasper and, by the time, he and Charlotte were a couple. The 3 of them formed a coven for sometime but Jasper was still depressed and left them. They visit him from time to time and this is mentioned in Midnight Sun. When they come back in Breaking Dawn to witness against the Volturi, they're not afraid of Renesmee, since they never met an immortal child.
Randall befriended Mary on their way to Forks, thought they don't travel together and, when they leave after the confrontation with the Volturi, they go on separate ways. When Jacob spoke on the werewolves' behalf, Randall and Peter referred to them as "children" and "infants".
The actors who will play their roles are Lee Pace as Garrett, Erik Odom as Peter, Valorie Curry as Charlotte, Bill Tangradi as Randall and Toni Trucks as Mary.

Devo sforzarmi duramente di accettare la realtà, ma mi sta uccidendo.
Ho bisogno di trovare una via di sfogo sana.
Sono già andato a caccia, ho sradicato fin troppi alberi lungo il cammino, ho provato a distrarmi suonando il mio pianoforte ma ne uscivano solo terribili e tristi lamenti e stavo per rompere i delicati tasti d'avorio.
Un diario.
I miei occhi cadono sulla pila di diari che ho collezionato durante l'ultimo secolo, riempiendoli di tutti i miei pensieri solitari, mentre cercavo di non pensare al resto dei membri della mia famiglia, intenti, come ogni notte, ad amarsi col proprio compagno.
In un decimo di secondo sono accanto alla pila di diari, sfiorandoli. Ne apro uno, due, cinque...
Sono tutti pieni.
È passato tanto tempo dall'ultima volta che ho sentito il bisogno di occupare le ore, soprattutto notturne, scrivendo... due anni.
Due anni spesi a venerare la creatura più preziosa mai apparsa lungo il cammino della mia misera esistenza.
Ho bisogno di andare alla cartoleria a comprarne dei nuovi.

Non ci ho messo più di 10 secondi a scrivere parte di quello che mi ronza nella testa da giorni e, una volta fatto, mi sento parzialmente sollevato, ma la sensazione è velocemente sostituita da... ansia? Per la reazione di coloro che lo leggeranno.

Stavamo insieme da un paio d'anni, la storia... era abbastanza complicata, noi ci amavamo, o almeno così credevo.

ha 18 anni, è... è umana, lo so, è una follia... ed il suo migliore amico è un lurido licantropo maledetto ed il cucciolo è anche più piccolo di lei.
Non so se è una questione fisica, io i miei 105 anni me li porto esageratamente bene, anche troppo, ho un aspetto che gli umani definiscono attraente, ma non sono esageratamente muscoloso ed enorme come lo è lui, che è anche particolarmente caldo, al contrario mio, che sono freddo come il ghiaccio.
So che a lei non è mai piaciuto il freddo, probabilmente è per questo: stare tra le braccia di un... “uomo” caldo dev'essere più invitante che stare tra le braccia di una statua di marmo.
Forse anche il fatto che io non ho potuto concederle molto a livello fisico, per paura di farle del male ma... cavolo: anche lui potrebbe ferirla!
Non riesco a capire cosa ci veda in lui.
Non ci siamo proprio lasciati a dir la verità: io l'ho vista baciarsi con lui, abbiamo parlato e lei ha ammesso di amarlo, anche se meno di me, ma... quello che ho visto mi ha ferito troppo e mi ha fatto riconsiderare tutta la mia vita per l'ennesima volta.
Da quando mi sono innamorato di lei, tutta la mia vita è cambiata radicalmente, tutto quello in cui credevo, tutte le cose che per me erano importanti... Ora, vedere quella scena, prendere coscienza che la piccola e fragile donna che amo più della mia intera esistenza non mi ama abbastanza da evitare di tradirmi o da non avere posto per nessun altro nel suo cuore, mi ha scombussolato parecchio.
Mi sento molto più depresso ora di quando, l'anno scorso, l'ho lasciata.
Magari lei lo sta facendo per ripicca? Gli umani sono così volubili... Io, all'epoca, mi sentii costretto a farlo: cercavo solo di proteggerla dal mio pericoloso mondo, anche se ora capisco di aver sbagliato alla grande.
Non solo il separarci ci ha fatto soffrire inutilmente e quasi portato alla morte ma ha anche dato a quel cane bastardo la possibilità di affondare le sue zampe putride su lei.
Probabilmente ora io, allontanandomi da lei per quello che ha fatto, sto sbagliando di nuovo e lei potrebbe decidere di buttarsi definitivamente tra le sue braccia ma... lo ha già fatto ed io adesso non ce la faccio proprio ad affrontarla: fa troppo male.
Nessun umano potrebbe riuscire a sopravvivere al dolore che io sto provando in questo momento, neanche quel cane.
Non so davvero cosa fare.

A/N:
Cosa ne dite? È la prima fic che pubblico con personaggi sovrannaturali, ovvero è la prima volta che non rendo tutti umani i personaggi della Saga di Twilight.
Con gli eventi dovremmo stare alla fine di Eclipse, quando Bella bacia Jake prima della battaglia... diciamo che Edward, in questo caso, più che non perdonarla, non riesce ad accettarlo e cade in depressione.
Voi cosa fareste se (in una realtà in cui non esistono SdTwiligh, True Blood, Vampire Diaries etc) nel sito dove voi avete il vostro blog ed interagite con gli altri bloggers, improvvisamente comparisse un nuovo blog con un post simile?
Il povero Eddie ha aperto un blog ed ora teme la reazione dei lettori... ma la sta aspettando.
Fatelo contento e rispondetegli con le le stesse domande che fareste se vi ritrovaste davanti un post simile.

The Denali Coven
The Denali Coven, at the time of Breaking Dawn's events, is composed of 4 females vampires and 1 male vampires; furthermore, had 3 former members, 1 female and 2 males, that are died. Their names are:
Their coven once fed on human blood, then became vegetarian since they met Carlisle.
Tanya is the leader of the coven. Initially had a crush on Edward, which is shown in Midnight Sun (because of that, Bella's a little jealous). She's, along with her siblings, an originator of the myth of the succubus (female vampires who seduce and have intercourse with male humans).
Laurent has been Irina's mate for a short time. Soon after he was created, he met with James and Victoria and joined their coven because James was very strong. When Carlisle, after the incident with James and Victoria in Twilight explained to him their lifestyle choices and affiliations, Laurent decided to go join the Denali Coven, where he fell for Irina. He often disregarded their dietary guidelines and admitted to cheating. During New Moon, he still kept good contact with Victoria and was willing to do favours for her, so he went to Forks to find Bella. He told her that it would be better if he killed her whereas Victoria was planning to make it 'slow and painful', but the werewolves stopped him and killed him.
Irina, like every other vampire, felt the need to avenge her mate so, when her coven was asked to help the Cullen's against the Newborn Army in Eclipse, they refused to help, since Carlisle didn't give her the ok to kill the werewolves. For the same reason she didn't attented to Edward and Bella's wedding and decided to spy them later. So one day, she saw Bella, Jacob, and Renesmee while hunting and thought that Renesmee was an immortal child that Bella had created; knowing that the "immortal child" was an illegal creation, Irina ran to tell the Volturi, but not before Bella saw her. When the Volturi scertained Renesmee was not an immortal child, she was executed for perjury (but what they really wanted was a reaction by her siblings).
Katrina, more commonly known as Kate, aided by Zafrina, helped teach Bella to extend her shielding range in the hope of including as many people as possible during the final confrontation with the Volturi. Having the ability to give an electric shock to whoever touches her, she used this towards Edward to motivate Bella, but it didn't worked until she threatened ti use her power towards Renesmee, that almost led Bella to attack her. During the build up to the fight, Kate developed an attachment to Garrett, a nomad vampire, in which she finds her mate. Kate is known to dislike Jane of the Volturi, and claims Jane as her opponent, saying she would like to give her a taste of her own medicine.
Eleazar was originally a guard of the Volturi until he met his mate Carmen, leaving the Volturi to follow her. Soon after, Carmen and himself joined the Denali Coven. The reason why he was part of the guard of the Volturi's he has a powerful gift that allowed him to identify vampires with gifts or nebulous talents in humans, so Aro could choose easily who he could "offer" to join his coven. It has been his gift who made Edward understand that Bella's was being a mental shield.
Carmen became Eleazar's mate as soon as they met and comes from Spain as well as him. She's the first of her coven who gives a chance to Renesmee to explain her story (she's the less concerned with the law of them) and they become quickly friends.
The actors who will play their roles are Andrea Powell as Sasha, Myanna Buring as Tanya, Maggie Grace as Irina, Casey LaBow as Kate, Mia Maestro as Carmen and Christian Camargo as Eleazar.

The Irish Coven
The Irish Coven is composed of two females vampires and one male vampire named:
Liam, her companion, is physically imposing like Siobhan and follows every order she gives.
Maggie, who didn't have a smooth start with Liam, is not physically imposing as her coven mates but truly respected: she has, in fact, the gift to know when she is lied to.
The actors who will play their roles are Lisa Howard as Siobhan, Patrick Brennan as Liam and Marlane Barnes as Maggie.

Kebi, Amun's mate, is always at his side in an obedient way.
Benjamin has been changed by Amun because he catched a gimpse of his ability: control natural elements with his mind. Amun desire's to built a powerful Coven (maybe to oust the Volturi) and he's afraid of everyone wants to steal Benjamin from his Coven (expecially Aro), as well as of Benjamin sense of indipendence and his sense of right and wrong (the reason why Edward, on the contrary, likes him a lot).
Tia, Benjamin's mate, was changed during her teenage years. She's a quiet woman as well as Kebi, but also very intelligent and qith a great insight in what she says.
Amun, fearing the Volturi, leaves the clearing as soon as they arrive, followed by Kebi, whereas Benjamin and Tia stay.
The actors who will play their roles are Omar Metwally as Amun, Rami Malek as Benjamin, Andrea Gabriel as Kebi and Angela Sarafyan as Tia.

The actors who will play their roles are Guri Weinberg as Stefan and Noel Fisher as Vladimir.

Zafrina's the one who can project visual illusions in the mind of those who surround her and Bella, differently from Nessie, who become bff with her, is a little scared by this particular vampire.
The three of them are descendants of an ancient Amazonian tribe. They have lived outside of civilization for centuries and therefore make no attempt to keep up a human facade. Though they drink human blood, the Amazons have long been allies of Carlisle.
As far as I know, only actresses for the roles of Senna and Zafrina had been casted.
So, we have Tracey Heggins as Senna and Judi Shekoni as Zafrina.

Twilight cast visit children in hospital in Baton Rouge
Just the other day, Peter, Elizabeth, Kellan and Nikki went in a hospital in Baton Rouge to pay a Christmas' visit to some children.
